decision-making

At the gym tonight, I went into the locker room and saw a lady sitting on the bench wiping blood from her arm. She looks at me and says, "I don't know what I did."

I assessed the situation:

1. she was bleeding profusely from a small cut on her elbow
2. she was over 60 years old
3. she was completely naked

What would you do?

I went to the front desk and got her a band-aid. She was very grateful.

pre-celebrating

Happy early St. Paddy's Day! To celebrate, I made corned beef using a new recipe. This one called for a brown sugar/spicy mustard glaze. Yum! My food critics rated the meal 9/10 or 5 stars :).

Oh man! I forgot to put out the shamrock napkins I bought. That's okay. We'll use them tomorrow on the actual day.

traffic

Sometimes the unexpected breaks up the morning commute. This morning I saw a familiar car and license plate on my way to work. I pulled up next to it and, sure enough, it was my friend! I waved and then we rolled down our windows and had a few exchanges. The traffic was moving at a steady pace, so we had to get going, but it's always fun to see a friendly face on the freeway.

the desert

Last weekend, my friends and I did the Hike for Hope in Palm Springs. We had registered for a moderately strenuous hike, but when we got there, it was full. Instead, we did a moderate hike, which was scenic, but not as pretty or challenging as the one we were expecting. Still, it was fun and we collected lots of goodies from the snack tables and gift bags. One volunteer was giving away free hugs. Funny.

On the way home, we hit the Cabazon outlets. More hiking :).
